I've only downloaded new games. So if I buy one of the new Star Trek releases does the downloaded come wrapped win DOSBox or do I need to download that separately. In other words, do I download and install like all other games or is there some separate step I need to do? Sorry for the basic question, but I couldn't find the answer anywhere.

It's no problem you are asking this, that is what the forums are here for.
As for your question, the game comes with Dosbox already configured so you can start playing immediately. Setting for Dosbox and the game itself are mostly there if you want to change something about the visuals or windows size.

However you might want to look into changing the sound settings as the game is normally configured to use Soundblaster for music and that is not the best of qualities. Roland MT-32 is much better but it does require some manual re configuration.

Thank you so much. I played this game and Judgment Rites when it first came out and want to play it again. Appreciate your help!!
How do you configure for Roland MT-32? And why isn't it the pre-configured standard if it's that much better?

Because it requires an actual Roland MT-32 or the still licensed ROMs with virtual MIDI software (MUNT).
