Hm, nothing changes with the dlc. The game is on Linux. If you haven't done yet update the game to v 2.0.0. and when the dlc comes you can play on Linux without a problem. Although I hope gog will allow the devs to push the small 2.0.1. patch.

Star Ruler 2 seems to (now?) have full Galaxy integration :
with update rollback (35048736 a year ago, 2.0.0, 2.0.1)
beta channels
and DLC checkbox with auto install/uninstall

As nice as that is, I don't use Galaxy.

Finally was able to pick it up today. Haven't played it yet of course. I am so happy there are a glut of 4X Games out these days. :-)
