Sorry for stuffing a bunch of search terms into the subject, but I wanted to make it easier for others having the same problem to find this thread. :)

So, I got SC3 on my Mac running Catalina. It starts fine. HyperMelee works fine as well. However, when I try to start the main game (i.e. the actual story / campaign), I click the button, it makes the usual clicky sound, and NOTHING HAPPENS.

The main game literally won't start.

Anyone else experiencing this issue?

UPDATE! I figured it out.

The problem was that /Applications/Star Control III.app was owned by one user (me), but was being executed by another user (my spouse).

It was a permissions issue!

When I did a "chown -R spouse /Applications/Star Control III.app", it fixed it.

A way to fix this would be to have the files installed with looser permissions. (Hope someone from GOG eventually raeds this!)
