Preferably one compatible with Complete. I found this mod: http://stalker.filefront.com/file/No_Weapon_Degrade100_Perfect_Dropped_Weapons;104715 . Regrettably, it crashes the game just before loading.

This solution:

"just change the weapon degradation factors in each weapon file (configs\weapons\w_WPNNAME.ltx like this:

condition_shot_dec = 0

condition_queue_shot_dec = 0"

This doesn't work for me.

I'd be grateful for any help.

EDIT: This is for CoP.

So you want weapons to degrade, but not be able to repair them? - or you want no degradation?

Looking at his code descriptions, I think he wants no degradation (and therefore no need to repair).

Yes, exactly. No degradation.

i seem to remember there was one on filefront many moons ago (still probably there). personally i can't understand why you'd want it, but i'll have a look later and see if i can find it for you.

Take a look at this. It is old though, so might not work.

I have read somewhere that it doesn't work with version 1.006, but I'm not sure about that. It may be some minor tweak needed somewhere, like changing the value of "current_server_entity_version" as mentioned in the thread I've linked to.

Oh, and you may have to start a new game for it to take effect, and to prevent crashing.

My mistake: I see now that I didn't specify Call of Pripyat. The linked mods aren't for CoP, sadly.

well, the good news is the CoP release wil be compatible with any of the mods at least. Should be one the same for CoP on there. also maybe moddb

Weapon repair is a pointless time-sink, and horribly unrealistic in every game I've played that included it.

the OP was on about weapon degredation - until they clarified they meant CoP. regardless, its part of the immersion and survival factor of the game - one of the main elements.

Same thing. And, no, they exist solely to force you to run around looking for another weapon rather than doing what you actually want to do in the game.

It's years since I played Stalker, and I think the three mods I installed were degradation removal, accurate weapons to replace the rubber barrels on the default guns, and inventory size increase so I didn't have to run half-way across the map to sell stuff every five minutes.

None of those were in any way justifiable, except to waste the player's time and bullets.

okay, heres the base mod for CoP (which you may have already found through my prior links)
http://stalker.filefront.com/file/No_Weapon_Degrade100_Perfect_Dropped_Weapons;104715

one thing i forgot to mention though is that as it may not be compatible with complete, is to use winmerge or a similar program (this is how i managed to get several basic mods working together when CoP first appeared). basically you can compare the files in both mods and it will highlight the differences, and you can copy / paste and make a new version of the files / folders.

it will be a little trial and error, but if you don't find anything else it may be worth a shot if you really want to go that road.
as you're playing CoP though - don't forget you can upgrade your weapon, including its durability.

I used that mod, but it crashed on me. Granted, I hadn't tried merging yet. I'll give it a shot.
