When I try to leave the space station Deep Ship Nine, the game constantly crashes. I've tried slowing the frames on DOSBox down which helped with a few other bugs, but this one I can't figure out. After the storm trooper throws me the fish and my ship takes off, the game crashes and I get the error message:

"VMD error - 51 -> IMD unknown: 450
..\vmdcache.cpp(374)"

Then I am kicked back into DOSBox and it reads the standard thanks for playing SQ language but also has one extra line:

"Universal VESA VBE is not loaded - cannot remove."

I am not sure what to do but would love to continue playing the game. Any technical help is much appreciated!!

I think this reply is a bit late, but i'm posting it for everybody else as i was stuck on this. Please update your resource.cfg file for DOSBOX to contain the following:

videoDrv = VESA.DRV
soundDrv = ADL.DRV
audioDrv = DACBLAST.DRV

directory = .\
cmd = Sierraw
mouseDrv = NONE
memoryDrv = NONE
minMemory = 1600k
brightness= 0
language = 1

resAUD=.\
resSFX=.\
patchDir=.\;.\MOVIES
movieDir=.\MOVIES
robot=.\ROBOTS

The reason for the crash is that you more than likely don't have the path set for the movie directory. It was missing from mine and i'm running SQ6 on a mac. When you leave the shuttle bay it plays a movie of the launch, so it's vital along with some of the others which cause crashes if missing.
