On Deepship 86 when I want to activate the Compost in Sick Bay the game crashes. Does anyone know of a solution? Thanks.

I had this problem also, the solution is to decrease the DOSBox cycles and slow the game down.

The best way is to press ALT+ENTER to play in windowed mode, so you can see the speed displayed at the top of the window. Then CTRL+F11 to slow the game by 5% with each press.

I have an i7 @4.5Ghz and had to take it down to around 60%.

CTRL+F12 will increase the speed once done.

Five year old post comes to the rescue. Pesky fast new computers making old games go haywire. Thanks, Zarxx.
This should be solved soon without any workarounds, when ScummVM finally supports it.
