clarry: It is a mystery to me. There was something in Himeno's bag that she was about to show or give to Mayu, but then she decided to keep it a secret.. the narrative made it sound like it's something significant. I think the same thing came up in one of the endings (fall into poison epilogue perhaps? was there a reference to Mayu's upcoming birthday?). But if the thing was actually revealed at some point, I have no recollection of it and I might have slept through that part (not unlikely given that I've been on it around 2AM and 6AM for the past few nights..).
Hello! Just 100%'d the game and i can confirm Mayu's upcoming birthday was mentioned in ending 3, aka -the limited ocean of life-. So i believe what Himeno did not want to show Mayu in the prologue was in fact her bday present.
Ofc it is never openly revealed in any of the endings so we can only imagine the nature of the gift itself.

As a sidenote, i will never forgive myself for leaving this game to sit on my backlog for 2 years!
My gut feeling when i bought it back in 2018 came true and it was an amazing experience from beginning to end. So there's that. Hope you enjoyed it as well!
