Here are some general tips for this game and for its sequel, Faces of War.
1) Draw the enemy out with fire and grenades. Lay ambushes for them with anything you've got.
2) Flank where possible. The levels are large for a reason.
3) Keep enemy vehicles intact where possible. Often the easiest way to crack a fortress is to have a tank or MG carrier raining ordnance on it, and keeping vehicles and AT guns intact (instead of blowing them up entirely) is a good way to keep ammo and gas reserves up.
4) Repair enemy vehicles and equipment where possible. Since you didn't totally destroy that Stug, you can now repair it and bundle some infantry in. Even if there's only one guy inside, it is added firepower. Same goes for heavy machineguns, and especially for artillery or AT guns.
5) Equip your men with MGs as soon as possible. Always try to have one person carry a sniper rifle or an AT weapon.
6) Support your team. Tanks are easily overwhelmed by infantry, and infantry require overwatch from heavy guns.
7) Use of direct control is essential when firing for anything other than suppression.
And for particular scenarios that might be challenging, I give solutions from most desirable to least desirable, but you should always remember that the best solution for everything is a heavy gun (tank, artillery, AT gun) with support.
Enemy behind barricades:
1) Destroy barricade with AT grenade.
2) Flush out with normal grenades, with shooters at the ready.
3) Destroy barricade with bazooka, panzerschrek. These can be inaccurate.
Defending narrow area:
1) Mine the ground. Lay guns on target to reduce firing delay.
2) Hide infantry in grass or behind bushes (they must be prone!) to throw AT grenades at juicy targets.
3) Arrange your armor in a line, keeping the front of the vehicles facing the enemy. Disable weak enemy vehicles or destroy some of your useless (heavy) ones to create impassable roadblocks.
Fortified building
1) Bazooka, panzerschrek or high explosive round inside a window. It will destroy the room when it hits an interior wall, and may collapse part of the building.
2) Drive a halftrack or heavier vehicle through the side of the building while firing into the breach you created. Works well when you've got to work through a built-up area and have only a machinegun carrier.
3) Approach from the side with a lone infantryman (use direct control) and throw AT grenade into windows enemy is firing through.
4) Set the building on fire.
And some interesting tricks:
- High-powered bullets or shells can ricochet when fired at a solid object, like a wall and especially armour, at a certain angle.
- A tank is best disabled by firing at the turret (which may disable the turret's traverse, sadly), or the tracks.
- Armour is weakest at the rear and slightly less so at the side, so position guns accordingly for ambushes.
- Armour-piercing rounds go through objects depending on the size and power of the round. You could use this to, say, destroy two enemy tanks with one AP round, or to fire at a group of soldiers on the other side of a building.

These are great tips - I've got one to add.
You can order your units to follow another unit by selecting the followers, pressing "J", and then left-clicking on the leader. This will allow you to proceed forward in direct control mode and have your squad cover your back.
Very helpful when assaulting a large group of infantry with minimal cover. It's also useful if you have multiple tanks and want maximum firepower AND accuracy (from yourself in direct control).
another little trick, use fire to your advantage. most soldiers have matches, you can burn buildings, bushes, trees, grass and so on. but take care, sometimes it gets ot of control.
One of my favorite weapons is actually a multi-use item: the Knife. You can use it for melee, but most of all it can be thrown at an enemy unit. So far I've received all instant kills with knifes, and they are silent =). Also, if you want to be a stealth nut, use cover like you would in games like Splinter Cell. If you watch your enemy's patrol pattern, you can time your runs correctly. Have fun and I will play MP with anyone.
Another tip:
Play Co-Op! Its a load of fun if you play local, and its making the game easier if you dont have to controll only 2 instead of 4 soldiers. You can use better tactics aswell as having two people fireing Manually. The best would be 4 Humans controlling 4 Soldiers, but you would need 3 friends with good laptops (Or 3 Brothers with PCs ^^) to do that.
I bought this game today and played coop with a friend (Lighthouse Mission). it took about 75 Minutes at the easiest difficulty, but as we where both just learning the basics we where glad to make it throught the Mission... =)

I think I have beaten 12 missions so far. I could help you, but I will warn you. I am very, very explosive happy. Favorite mission: Frontline (I think that is the name. You have only 3 troops, have to find your general, and blow up a train that carries like 16 Germans and 3 mounted guns.)
Do you wish to play me?
I have not figured out yet how to play online, I only found the LAN-Server Browser =). And I am from Germany, so there could be some problems with the time zones, but if we can get this together, I would really like to play with you.
And the Mission is called Outfront. Frontline is a funny Mission, too, but you cant play it Coop.

Yes, Outfront was a very fun battle. Sneaking my men across the fields, lying in ambush as I shot down the lead motorcyclist as his passenger was killed from a flip....Good times...
I think we could use Hamachi once I get the damn thing running...
Sure, we can try if we manage to find a time when we both are awake and at our PCs =)

Well, I have to redownload mine because of Africa mod. Didn't like the look...
I installed it but I did not get new Maps and all that stuff. Do you know how I get it to work?

I uninstalled the entire game and re installed it...I hate mods some times....
You could have uninstalled it by just uninstalling "Africa '42" at the Software Page of your Computer =)

Yep,, I just figured that out....Fuck
Another tip: You can literally smoke the crew out of tank with molotov, and usually it doesn't explode (what it (at least small tank) does when you throw an AT grenade to it).
And btw: When i try to find multiplayer games it just says looking for games, so can i play in multiplayer only if i know server ip?
