Hi, I'm wondering about buying this game as I tried the demo recently and found it quite fun even though my men died horribly after about a minute and a half of utter confusion. The only thing putting me off from buying it is there seem to be lots of people complaining the game doesn't work when they've bought it here. So is there anyone who has the GOG version that finds it plays, and if so what OS etc are they using? I don't know what the refund policy is here, but I don't want to be paying for a game that is broken by bugs, even if there is a special sale on.
Cheers.
I had no problem installing and playing it.
Specs:
Windows XP SP2 Home (didn't play it using SP3)
Intel Pentium 4 3.40 GHz
nVidia GeForce 6800 256 MB
1 GB memory
No problems for me
Windows XP Pro SP3
Intel Pentium D Extreme 3.2 GHz
Nvidia 8800GT
Thanks for the replies. I might buy this game then. There are a few games I want to buy, and as the sale is on, it' s a great time to buy.... sadly, however, I checked my bank balance and it seems this Christmas is going to be an expensive one.... still got half my presents to buy and there's a lot of travelling to be done over the period so I'll have to cut back on my purchases. Half wishing I'd not spoilt the girlfriend so much, but then hopefully I'll be rewarded well for it!!
Cheers.
Yeah my shitty 2ghz runs it perfectly.
I bought the game in the end and have enjoyed it thoroughly. The camera is a bit awkward at times and I wish you could zoom in a bit more to see what is going on in greater detail, but so far it has been a good buy. I find it a bit difficult to concentrate on more than a couple of units at a time, though, and find rambo style tactics are often the way to go. It reminds me a little of a 3rd person perspective zoomed out Hidden & Dangerous... which was also simpler to play in lone wolf mode.
Works fine here too. Core 2 Duo 6750, 2GB RAM, nVidia Geforce 8800GT 512MB, on-board sound, Windows XP Pro SP2.
Works fine for me on Vista
