So thanks GOG/CDPR for finally getting SoF1 and 2 (not you Payback) on a digital storefront, they work fine, but SoF2 doesn't really have its gore for me (UK owner, not the German one.) I've tried messing with the settings and nothing seems to work, had a look around, found that there's supposed to be a parental code set during install, and that will allow you to change the mature setitngs. I tried installing with and without GOG Galaxy and the install doesn't mention anything about setting any form of parental controls, I've tried changing the filter in the config file, that sorta...worked, but its still seems to be weak compared to other videos showing off the game without any gore mod enabled. Is there a workaround? or a way to change/find the password that's asked when entering 'menu lock' in the console? I've tried entering nothing due to the lack of a password being set but that doesn't work.

Cheers for any help!

About SoF 2:

User from Germany here: I have all the gore unlocked from the beginning. Installed it from GOG Galaxy

To get access to the Parental Menu you have to insert menu lock in the Console. There's no Parental Password set
I also tried that, but the attached file shows that there is/was a password set. :P

Managed to get around it, launched the MP.exe and it let me set a password there, but even now, i'm still missing gore with theses settings enabled, I dunno anymore.

We'll have to see if anyone else has this issue, but it sounds like something that needs to be raised to GOG Support on a support ticket.

Been talking to some people on a Discord server, all's fine on their end except for some gamma-related stuff, I got some stuff to work, originally I wasn't able to take any limbs off, but after taking some settings from his .cfg I'm able to do that now. Though, still seem to be missing decals. I'll just mess around with it for a while, maybe I'll get it to work and if I do I'll post an update for any future reference.

Same probleme here, it looks like a PW is set by default.
You should start the Game without Galaxy. SOF2.exe in the Directory. Set a Password and then you can run the Game with Galaxy. ( Enter the new Password )

Can't set a PW. I'll try a reinstall without GoG Galaxy.
Go to the Directory ....gog galaxy/games/Soldier of Fortune 2 and run SoF2.exe. ( with Console ) and enter in the Console
menu lock. The lock menu should be available. And in the Lock menu you can change the password. Close the Game. So,
you can now run the game from Galaxy. ( with console ) and active the lock menu with the new Password.

and i forgot, the funny thing is after starting SOF2.exe the Lock menu password is... ; Press Enter and you are in.

Sadly it just doesnt work for me. Invalid Password. Reinstalling without Galaxy didnt do the trick either.

instead of menu lock try menu parental in the console - are options there enabled or disabled?

Try launching the SoF2MP.exe and then setting the password there, that's what I did to get around the password stuff, all my settings are enabled but I just seem to be missing decals, there should be a bit more blood, and shooting limbs just results in them disappearing, I mean...the game's fully playable, just kind of a shame that the best part about it isn't working fully. :P

Same issue here, full gore doesn't work. Tried everything. Nothing helped for me. I think this is a global issue. GOG have to look into maybe patch or something?

From what I've read here, I would agree. Really there should be NO password set from the initial installation, whether that by by using the offline installers or by using GOG Galaxy. Sounds like a bad config file or something that is part of the current installers, and that would need GOG to amend the relevant file(s).

Just another thought, though. Are there any community patches for SoF2 (for instance like SoFPlus for SoF1)? If so, would installing that over the top resolve this?

EDIT: Is this related?
