It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).

Hi all!

Was looking forward to playing SGW3 but no matter what I try I cannot get to the menu without the game insisting that it can't allocate a huge number of bytes to my RAM.

People say to check you have enough RAM to run the game - I have 32GB and do not use anywhere near that amount normally. I've also tried the Page File fix, where you set your system's page file to at least 8196MB, to no avail.

Extremely frustrating issue and I wouldn't want to refund the game unless absolutely necessary, anybody know any other fixes?

Thank you.

This is also happening for me as well. None of the fixes I've found on the net are working (including what you've described). Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
This is happening to me as well.

Windows 10 64-bit
i7 6700k
32GB RAM
GTX 1070

I've tried setting the page file to manual settings (8192MB and 32000MB) and also bcdedit /set increaseuserva 4096 and bcdedit /set increaseuserva 32768 and restarting after each change.

I haven't been able to find any more fixes.

Hope someone can help.

Same here, nothing I tried seems to resolve this. Not the first game I bought with GOG recently that crashes at launch.
Same here... No solutions so far.. Icry :(
In addition to my post above: just bought this game at Steam (€ 5.99) and quess what, it launches as intended without a memory problem. Seems the problem is at GoG. I submitted a ticket, but now I want my money back from GoG

Same problem here.

I have on steam, works fine, but not the gold edition, so I bought it.
Now I'm stuck with an OOM error.
Fresh update! I fixed my problem. No idea how, but here what I've done.

1. Set Full screen to No, resolution to 800x600 and quality to Low
2. Run the game. It works.
3. Quit the game.
4. Re-run the game.
5. Set Full screen to No, resolution to Max supported (mine 2560x1080) and quality to Very High.
6. Enjoy the game.

=============

Update: crash after prologue.

I restarted the game and went trough step 1. to 4.
I then set resolution to maximum and setting to low, and started mission 1.
All fine.

During game I've set the settings to High.
All fine.

I then set each setting to very high and the game didn't crashed and I'm playing the mission.
Definitely something weird is with the overall settings or how the engine load the graphics assets.

Where do I set Full Screen to No? I crash even before I can get to the Settings.

Muirwen: Where do I set Full Screen to No? I crash even before I can get to the Settings.
In the settings, video panel.

But if you crash before that, no joy.
I've identified two main causes for the game to crash:

Chrome or firefox running.
Launching the game trough Galaxy.

If any of the browser is running, while launching the game, it crash with reported error.

If I alt-tab and run a browser on the second screen, it crash after a few minutes.
if running the game from galaxy, it runs a bit then crash.

If I run the game from the folder directly, it works fine.
hmm, I have 32GB ram, and i've never seen this issue (or game crash)

could one of you run hwinfo while playing the game, and output stats like mem utilization, gpu memory utilization etc?
This may be issue with something else, and its quite common you drop an error that is something completely else.

// My spec
Win10 Pro
Ryzen 1700x @ 3.7GHz
32GB DDR4 @ 3333MHz
Radeon VII @ undervolt (watercooling)

(everything maxed out at 1440p)

The game at any point in time didn't use that amount of ram.

On purpose I had opened some tabs in firefox, outlook, and some other soft. The mem utilization for the game process was around 8-10GB ram, and around 4-5GB of vram (everything very high @ 1440p, with no motion blur, no vsync, no full screen).

I have pagefile disabled completly.

// \GOG Games\Sniper Ghost Warrior 3\LogBackups
Maybe its worth looking at your logs (mine is empty, but if you crashed i imagine you would see some log there.)

I have 6GB GPU and the game never used more than 5GB ram.

That number is obviously a variable overflow, is not reliable.

Anyway, I confirm that running the game trough Galaxy, crash it.

this may be nvidia driver issue, i tried running it from 980ti and it crashed.
