Hello everyone,

I've been playing SoaS for quiet some time now and still play my copy of Trinity every now and then.
Since Rebellion always required Steam and the Stardock Launcher running in order to be played, I usually just stuck with Trinity as it doesn't even ask for my disk.
Browsing through GOG, I recently discovered this collection and saw that lots of stuff has been added since Rebellion.
I'm temped to buy it when it goes on sale, but I wonder if this odd Stardock launcher is required on GOG too, since the no third-party/no-online registration agenda of GOG has been bend a few times over the last years.
Thanks for your answers and have a good day!

The Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion Ultimate Edition that was available on GOG until a few months ago does not require the Stardock Launcher. Recently, GOG removed that SKU from sale and offered instead "Sins of a Solar Empire: Ultimate Edition" (note: no Rebellion) which purports to be the Rebellion Edition + several DLCs rolled in. As a longtime customer who bought the old Rebellion edition, and who was not upgraded to the new non-Rebellion edition, I cannot say whether the non-Rebellion edition is still free of the Stardock Launcher.
