MeleeBrawl: I just got the game on sale and it crashes after the THQ logo when played via GoG Galaxy, and when launched via desktop shortcut half the logo and the menu text is missing?

This is weird as the Steam demo works just fine, so I want to know if I'm doing anything wrong or if I can get my money back.
