On April 3rd there will be released an HD remaster of Simon the Sorcerer 1 & 2. Will we see the Anniversary Editions of these games also on GOG?

Does this mean people who have already bought the games will have them removed from their game library?

Yes.

Also they are garbage.
Do note:
1: The anniversary edition is a Port of a port, of a port. Its a Windows port of a Android/ios port of the Windows enhanced port of the DOS original.
2: The new version offers the Windows enhanced port (the one that brought the voice acting in) as an extra in the GOG and Steam versions, however it cant run on GOG galaxy.
3: The anniversary edition is such low star rating, i'd reccomend only get it if you want the version GOG already had and was removed for this new, considered worse and more expensive, version. You can even use more updated tech on the older version that the more modern one at the Scummvm website.
Simon the Sorcerer HD remake is "The New Coke" of computer games.

Except, I doubt they will go back and offer us the old formula separately. The way it is now customers have to pay premium in order to buy the new Coke so they can get the classic Coke, which would be the only thing they would have wanted in the first place.
So MojoTouch did considerably worse than the Coca-Cola Company of the past.
These 2 games deserve a proper remake, like what they did with Monkey Island 2 (I don't like the job they did on Monkey Island 1). For me the humor in Simon 1 and 2, even Feeble Files is at least on par if not even better than in the old Lucas Arts games and it's a shame to see these classics treated like this.
If you want to play the "HD remake" you only need to get a glass the size of your screen, spead butter and chicken grease over it, sneeze on top of it and glue it to your screen. Then you get the same "HD" effect.

Incidently you can just play with original graphics, or experiment with the also dreadful scummv graphics filters.
So, just to make it clear, the anniversary games do have a classic mode without the filter?
Sorry, I just noticed the thread was old.

The classic (or "legacy") versions are included separately as free bonus goodies. So you can buy the anniversary edition, ignore the new installers and download the classic ones instead.
