Hey, i bought this game and got little pissed because it got no sub. well im deaf so i cant playing like game without sub. is it some option ? sorry for bad english
Unfortunately the CD version doesn't even include full subtitles in the data files.
Maybe the disk version can be provided, for people more interested in the subtitles.

Those of us who are deaf, LIKE ME, would appreciate it if a game like this had some mention of the fact that the SUBTITLES we remember from the original game ARE NOT INCLUDED in the download!
I just completely wasted my money on this. BOO!

Hi
I've got a good news. We've added a version with subtitles:)
all you have to do is download the game once again and before you install you can choose which version you prefer :)

Sorry to hear that you're so disappointed, but original fully audio version of Simon the Sorcerer 1 had no subtitles, subtitles are only present in floppy version, which now is also included in our installer - like Coala said earlier.

Always nice to see a quick response from the GOG team.
Not that having subtitles concerns me much, but thanks for giving customers the option :-)

Also, just to nip this problem in the bud, if you want subtitles/text in Simon the Sorcerer 2 and haven't read the manual, you can evidently hit the T key and it switches to the text version of the game (rather than the "talkie" one).
Oh, and using the +/- keys adjusts music volume. Use the M key to turn music on and off.

Wieee! THANK YOU GOG.COM! now can i enjoy game!
How about the mac version? After reading the thread, I purchased and downloaded the mac version. I wasn't asked any questions while installing, and my version seems to be without subtitles.

I think that you can change the version you install by clicking the "Options" button in the lower left corner of the first install screen.
Hi everyone.
I had just buyed the game, but I can't understand how I can activate the subtitles or how download the subtitled version.
Thenk you for any help.
Same problem for me: I redownloaded Simon 1 but when I try to reinstall it I'can't see anywhere any option to switch between game modes (Audio/Sub). The only thing the installer lets me do is to browse the game folder: I'll be thankful to anyone giving me some advice.
I have the same difficulty: the installer does not let me choose the subtitled version of the game. This is especially annoying because I downloaded the game from GOG when I first purchased it, and it did have subtitles. Now, on my new system, I redownloaded it and the subtitles are gone. What's going on here?
The installer for Simon the Sorcerer 1 still includes the two versions (subtitles and talkie), it is just no longer optional in the installer.

Ok: but then: how do I activate the subs version instead of the spoken one?
I mean: I intall the game and it doesn't ask me to select the version; is there an option or a button
that allows me t switch the game version while it is runnig? Or what do I have to do to activate the subs version?
Please be simple and clear: this thing is driving me nuts!
The following two items should have been added to the Start Menu:
Simon the Sorcerer
Simon the Sorcerer (Floppy)

Choose the second item, if you want to play Simon the Sorcerer 1 with subtitles.
