This is probably the first adventure game I've played. I enjoyed it a lot. It comes with a walkthrough if you're lost or impatient.
Story:
- The story is kind of weak (you get to save to world from an evil sorcerer!).
+ It is however funny and has references to various fantasy books such as Alice in Wonderland; Sword and the Stone (the wizard's duel!); Lion, Witch, and the Wardrobe; and Lord of the Rings.
+ fun dialogue
Graphics:
+ They are pretty. Lots of vibrant colors and and good designs.
- Some objects are hard to see
+ There are semi random animals that pop out in the forest when you enter a screen. Makes the it more interesting then just another screen of forest.
Game Mechanics:
+ The map is wonderful. It is the only way to travel. It allows you to warp from one place to another which speeds up the game immensely when you need to run back and forth.
- No keyboard shortcuts for actions. So you have to always scroll down to the action and click before clicking on objects. Which is rather tedious.
- when the game sets too long Simon puts his headphones (and you lose your mouse pointer during the animation), when you click to tell him to do something, he puts this headphones away (and of course you lose your mouse again).
Sound:
+ The voice acting is good.
- The music is a little loud. I had to toggle it off to listen to conversations
