Hi all,

I just got done making the English version of the manual for Sid Meier's Covert Action mostly presentable. I tried to make it smaller as far as the size of it goes but I figured everyone would appreciate a nice high quality scan of the physical manual :) The scan of the physical manual was done with 600 DPI on Ultra Fine. I do apologize for setting off anyone's OCD as the page cropping is not exactly what you'd call even but I figure having a legible manual will override that :)

I have also uploaded the German version of the manual :)

Please feel free to download the manuals anytime you like and enjoy! :)
Do feel free to let me know if the English manual is up to everyone's high standards :)

I can't thank you enough for this gift. )
Are you absolutely sure? Can you see the pictures OK, they aren't grayish blobs on the page or anything?

Silverhawk170485: Now there is a german manual but no german version of the game? :/

It would be nice if the german version will be added in future because decrypting the messages isn't that easy if you're not a native english speaking person.
I personally bought a German CD re-release (Covert Aktion) from ebay.de, thinking it was a German version, but it was just the English version. I just wanted to include a German manual along with the English one but I didn't want to cause any confusion as to whether we had a different version of the game.

Did a German language version of Covert Action actually exist?

SmashManiac: Great job on the scanning, the manual looks great! It was definitely worth the wait!

I do have one major complaint though: the file size is HUUUUGE! :O

May I suggest using OCR? This would significantly reduce the file size while simultaneously raising the quality of the characters. Considering that there are only 2 fonts used throughout the entire manual and that one of them is obviously Times New Roman, this should be an easy job with this scan quality.
Do you have any recommendation for some decent OCR software?
