The manual i have in my start menu folder - but where is the reference card and where are the avatars ...?

Navigate to: https://www.gog.com/account
Within your game library, search for, or, visually locate Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri™ Planetary Pack, and select it.
All extra content resides on the right side.

In the GOG Galaxy client there is a menu "Extras" with the items but nothing happens when you click on them :-(
The solution indeed is to use the GOG website. I wonder if this is true for all games ...
