Game installed fine and runs, but it is visually broken. The colors are completely messed up. Im running this on Windows 7 and have downloaded it from GOG, with the latest update.

EDIT: Ive also tried running it with the 256 colors thing turned on. Still doesn't work.

BlaneckW: compatibility modes....
I'm running into the same issue on Windows 7. I've tried the following compatibility modes.

XP Service Pack 2: Same color issue
XP Service Pack 3: Same color issue
98/ME: Never launches
95: Never launches

None of the Server options make sense, same with Vista or 7.

If you know of the correct options to select in the Compatibility tab, please enlighten us.

Try the post linked above. I did some digging and this worked for me.

Run in as administrator. Then restart your computer in safe mode and try it in that. I will try to pull more out my ass if this doesn't work. Try Windowed mode.

Add "DirectDraw=0" to Alpha Centauri.ini

That is it. Everything else should be untouched.

XP compatibility mode is not required, but "run as admin" and "Disable High DPI" are selected by default and I haven't touched them.

You shouldn't need to change any of the other default install settings.
