Hey folks, I've been playing this awhile, and I get very good sound in the game, no problem, but the intro never had any sound. That didn't really bother me, but then when I got to my first movie in game, that too had no sound.
Any ideas??

Windows 7, tried to run as administrator and tried to run in WinXP compatibility mode.

Anyone else seeing this or anyone have any ideas?
Nothing? No ideas?

I was afraid of that. I've actually never played an entire game of this before, and if I'm going to put in the hours to do so I really want to be able to enjoy the entire experience, and not hearing any sound during those clips just doesn't cut it for me.

Try it on another computer maybe? Both of my desktops are Windows 7 machines though, so I'm not sure it would matter. However, with the one I'm using now, the sound goes through the Nvidia video card via the HDMI cable whereas on the other one the sound goes directly to speakers connected to the audio out ports on the motherboard. Perhaps that will make a difference???

Gonna give that a go tomorrow then.

Thanks for any who read it, even if no one had any suggestions. Sometimes problems are just too hard to pinpoint, and I guess I got lucky enough to have one this time. Best wishes to all you GoGers.
Well, I've now tried it on two other computers, and THE SAME ISSUE.

No sound on the intro or the in-game movies.

Now if I'm seeing it on each of my computers, I don't see how it's possible that no one else is seeing this.

Could someone please post here just to confirm they're seeing it even if they have no idea how to fix it???

I've never played a single game of this yet because I want to experience the whole thing, and I got the feeling from the limited time I did play that those in game "interludes" make the game more enjoyable by giving it a "story".

FWIW, ALL OF MY COMPUTERS are Windows 7, 64 bit. One is Home version, the others are Professional version. And no sound on intro or movies on ANY OF THEM. In game sounds are fine, just no sound on intro or in game movies (interludes or wonder movies).
I had a problem running the movies of ROTK in-game. Given that this seems to be a rare problem with this game, you might find more general research rewarding, i.e. something that resolved sound/video problems for another game might also fix your problem here. Unless you need me to research this for you. Let me know. I don't honestly expect a solution for a video-related problem. If you want to, it is possible to watch the video out of game.
