Hi, after using the facedit to modify a factions bonuses, I hit save, then after that: their Base numbers are just black squares so I cannot read the base size. Any idea what might be going on? Also when the computer scrolls the map during process turn, the map tiles disappear (and become visible when you move the map again).

Could you provide a little system data, please?

(Graphics card, OS and version, any workarounds or mods in use?)
I have very little experience with facedit.exe. I only cranked it up just last month to try out some dialogue alterations. I do notice that it does not leave faction.txt files completely the same after it touches them. For this reason I will just hand edit in the future, as I don't want the machine spew on my .txt files. For a typical user trying out "this or that" it may not be a problem, but I do heavy duty modding with regular releases. I have to maintain consistency and not get any machine generated surprises.

I noticed that it also generated a lot of temporary image files or something. Seemed to overwrite or update the existing factional art assets. I am guessing this is the source of your problem. Look in your game folder for files that have a recent filestamp on them, instead of the usual 1999.
