Quick question, I'm really wanting to buy the Alpha Centauri Planetary Pack off Gog here but they have this compatibility warning on the purchase page:

ATI/AMD compatibility notice: Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri requires graphic card drivers version 13.4 or older


I'm running Win 7 Pro 64 with a radeon hd 7970 with, of course the latest drivers, and I'm not really wanting to have to roll back my drivers or anything. Anyone know if there is a way to run this without too much hassle?

I'm not sure, if the compatibility notice still applies. The game runs fine on my HD 7950 since Catalyst driver 13.12. No graphical glitches or anything. I'm currently on 14.12 (haven't checked if there is a newer non-beta version) and SMAX runs still a-okay.

Doesn’t cost much, that’s true, but it is in my opinion the game with the highest value sold on GOG.

I haven't tried it myself as I too am weary of getting the game with that warning but it seems like some people have gotten it to work. Or have you already bought the game and experienced problems?
