Hello, I started working on a widescreen Patch for Shogo. Here is the second version:

Features:
-The FOV is Hor+ (the larger the aspect ratio, the more is seen) and can also be set manually.
-The cutscenes are anamorphic (they zoom in so that the original aspect is kept).
-The crosshairs scale with the screen resolution.
-Its no longer possible to control the character during cutscenes after exiting a menu.

Installation:
1. Put the "WidescreenPatch.rez" file in the "Custom" folder in the Shogo Installation directory.
2. Run the launcher, click on "Display", choose your resolution and click "OK".
3. Click on "Customize", select "WidescreenPatch.rez" and click on "Add".
4. Make sure that "Always load these rez files" is enabled.
5. Click "OK" and start the game.
Enjoy the game!

instructions on how to set the FOV manually can be found in the readme file.

wobak: Hello, I started working on a widescreen Patch for Shogo and finished the first version.

Does this patch solve the issue with Windows 8/8.1? The game is executed in a window not in fullscreen. It seems also that it runs in software emulation mode and therefore it's very slow.
No, im using windows 7 so i dont know about any windows 8 problems. Do these issues appear in the original version too or only when using the patch?

edit: do you mean the directdraw emulation problem? no, that cant be fixed, its windows 8 fault.

Thanks. It´s very needed feature. Can you think about doing the same to Blood 2?
I know it's kind of a longshot, but any chance this would get me closer to running the game windowed? I bought this years ago to stream and it's not compatible with all the windowing software I've tried.

@ TaxAkla: The changes can easily be applied to blood 2 aswell but i dont have the game so i couldnt test them.

@Morty_P: No, sorry. i just modified some files in the dll that contains the game logic etc. these files dont have any influence on the actual rendering.
Wobak, check your pm.
Nice fix but at least for me, the mouse pointer appears on the screen and it stays there.

EDIT:

Ok, Ive deleted the parameters and on CUSTOMIZE, I just add the Widescreen patch and thats it. Extented FOV and no mouse pointer.

Yes, sorry - the instructions were a mess. I wrote better ones now.
I also uploaded a new version of the patch, now with proper crosshair scaling and real anamorphic cutscenes that should look right on aspect ratios larger than 2:1 aswell.
Thanks, ,mate. You are awsome :D
Thank you :-)
If you find any issues with the patch, please post about them here.

by the way, I released a widescreen patch fro blood 2 aswell.

I get a Cshell.dll error every time I'm about to launch the game after doing what you told me to do. Please help!
Does the error message contain any information about what went wrong?
