Is there any reason to install, or to not install, the Dragonfall DLC into the original Shadowrun Returns?

(I'm not talking about Shadowrun: Dragonfall - Director's Cut, there originally was a DLC update for Returns that added Dragonfall.)

What I mean is does the DLC version of Dragonfall effect Shadowrun Returns itself in any way?

If not I'm guessing it would be better to stick with the stand alone Shadowrun: Dragonfall - Director's Cut instead of installing the DLC.

Nope, the Dragonfall DLC doesn't affect Shadowrun Returns in any way whatsoever. On top of that, it's vastly inferior to the DC version (not only does this version have additional content, it also uses a far superior engine).

I seriously wouldn't bother with the DLC into SRR, unless you want to compare the two to see how much better the DC version is or something. If you just want to play it, the DC/standalone version is all you need.
I'll do as you suggest and ignore the Shadowrun Returns DLC in favor of the Dragonfall Director's Cut.

Thank you for the information.
