Surprised to see no mention of this on GOG forums. Maybe not the most important thing, I find it interesting though.
Anyway, a few years ago a user over at Shadow Warrior Central made a compilation of user-made voxels and added some of his own. It doesn't replace all of the object sprites, but the included amount is considerable and the pack receives pretty frequent updates. Here's a link to the original SW Central topic, the download links and setup instructions are gathered in the first post with some examples.
Works alright with Classic and Redux versions, SWP should also be good but people over at Steam forums reported some hiccups. Also, there were some arguments about new voxels replacing ones in hires pack, don't know if this was resolved in any way.
