And of course now the patch is available on separate download, it refuses to work on my Galaxy install and asks me to re-download 14 GB again!

Does anyone have a workaround? My Galaxy install is on 1.1.2.0, which should be the GOG-6 version. So surely there must be a way to get the 1.1.3.0 (GOG-6 -> GOG-7) to work somehow? There must be something I can do besides waiting for my next month's allocation to roll over.

First of all I wanted to apologize for all the trouble with SW2 patching. GOG Galaxy is being constantly improved and patch sizes have been greatly reduced from what it was initially, however in some special cases the system still requires some tuning. I'm happy to say that we are now close to a release of a new system that should fix this problem. ;)

This new system has now been used to create a new version of the SW2 1.1.2.0 -> 1.1.3.0 update. So SSMChan, you shouldn't have to wait for the next month's allocation. ;)

(please note that this for 1.1.2.0 -> 1.1.3.0 only for now and that it might take a few minutes for that patch to be applied after it is downloaded)

Hello Paczyk. Just tried an update from 1.1.2.0 via Galaxy and it is now only as 128 MB, so the new system works. You are right in that it took quite a few minutes for me to patch, so for anyone else reading just be aware (it took nearly 10 mins for me).

Thanks for keeping an eye on these forums and responding to them.
None of the two updates works, each says that my game version is unsupported. What am I to do ?

EDIT: Setting manual update and doing them one by one seems to work

I downloaded all the patches, applied them one by one and now my game is up-to-date and I'm happy. I was getting annoyed at the thought of downloading the whole game everytime it got updated.

Can you do the same for the latest patch? As it is now, Galaxy wants to download 13 GB, and the manual patch download from GOG doesn't work (it says the patch is not compatible with the installed version of the game).

True. New 1.1.5.0 patch, new 13Gb to download... That's outrageous.

The patch only came out in the last day or so. All we can do is wait...

...and in the future don't download anything with Galaxy and use the direct library link on the website instead. You'll still be waiting after Steam but its nearly always earlier than Galaxy. Plus (and this is a very big plus) you can actually see what and how big the download is before you attempt it.
This is really ridiculous, 13 GB download of the whole game with GOG Galaxy for the second time because of patching? What the hell?
And I had to switch to the Galaxy Version, because Multiplayer didn't work at first in the regular GOG downloader-version.

Unfortunately, the same here...
So, any news about this...?

Still 13 GB when I try an update (which I then cancel). I have been reading on the Steam forums there are performance issues with the current patch. Maybe they are just trying to fix it first. Not sure why they could make a patch for the stand-alone but not the Galaxy though.

Because in Galaxy updates uploded by developers itself.
But delta patches makes by GOG team.
These developers publish all their patches on Friday afternoon.
GOG team does not have time do a delta patch, and on weekends they do not work. So delta patches appear only on Monday.
In Galaxy game update is in the form in which it there Friday uploaded by developers. But the developers, apparently in order to save time, is uploaded at once all the game updated to the latest patch.

So in this particular case, everyone just have to decide what is more important - getting update for 2 days before, but to download the entire game (in that case use the Galaxy) or more important than the size of the downloaded. And then you have to use a regular downloadable version of the game from the site (and delta patches, when it ready by GOG team. In this case, usually on Mondays, for the reasons mentioned above).

A week has passed and it still requires a 13 GB download. So it's not the weekend thing.

Lost Art of Reading?
"Because in Galaxy updates uploded by developers itself."
"game from the site (and delta patches, when it ready by GOG team"

Easy mode:
Galaxy - developers.
Site - GOG team.

Download section of site shows me not 13GB, but 503MB patch.
