Strange, getting 60FPS on mine in 1080 resolution according to FRAPS

Check your refresh rate on your screen, if you are using a higher resolution you could possibly be locked to 30FPS
The problem is only on Shadow Man, all other games run !
I have installed it on my laptop with Win7 and it runs at 60 fps !

Can it possibly be due to Windows 8 ?

probably, I heard people having similar issues with older titles and windows 8 like most people really need another reason to hate Windows 8.
Hi Mazigna2012, i have a similar problem (W8 x64). Did you found any solution for this? Or will be better just to install a virtual xp with the oracle vm box?
This is definitely a problem and I'm not saying you shouldn't try to solve this "properly".

However, I do feel I should mention that it might be a good idea to limit the game to 30 fps via other more controllable means anyway even if you do fix this.

Unfortunately after messing around with the settings for a while I've noticed some weird things happening when this game runs at 60 fps or higher.
Some menu animations speed up abnormally, and more annoyingly some enemy attacks get unusually short cool-downs.
Also on at least one of my machines the game crashes occasionally, and limiting the framerate to 30 seems to fix it.

Because of that I'm kind of getting the impression this is one of those old games that likes to assume it's running at around 30 fps and it might misbehave somewhat if it runs too much faster than that.
