but on the other hand I do not understand why the classic game is not included in the remaster.

My entire frustration with Night Dive as a studio is that do not seem too interested in releasing unaltered versions of the games they've "remastered". Like why not just have the orignal version as a "bonus" for people who purchased this new version? Why completely remove it?

This is not game preservation, and Night Dive is really not in the business of game preservation. They are in the business of repackaging and reselling older games. For releases like Doom 64, a 99.9% faithful PC port, that is fine. But for stuff where they decided to add HD textures and a bunch of gameplay and level changes, this is less great.

Guess we won't be getting a free upgrade to the remastered version for owning the original...like we got with the bloodrayne remasters. I'm not sure I wanna buy this game for a 3rd time.

You're missing out on the best version of the game. The number of QOL improvements make every other version look old and incomplete.
