rabbitkilla22: Hi, i have a idiot problem. I'm stuck at the point of entering the chosen ruins, because i can't litteraly use the optic vine in the terrarium, it doesn't have that yellowish contour on it when i take it to the panel box. Does anyone have any idea why does this happen? I tried already patch version 1.02 and 1.04. What do i do? I really want to finish the game :(
I don't care how old this post is, I feel the need to answer for posterity:
You didn't grab the optic vine. You did what I did and misinterpreted the guide. You were smart enough to use the terrarium ahead of time and grab a leaf, but the guide didn't tell you to do that, it told you to interact with the vine (below the leaf you grabbed should be a hand icon).
You basically had three objectives there and the guide gave you two of them. The first two from the guide being to grab the optic vine and to grab the plant to the north. You could also use any terrariums you purchased on the leaf above the vine for later use.
I save a LOT in this game so I was able to just load back to that area when I realized my mistake and immediately figured it out. These guides are alright, but a bit unreliable at parts. Some things you have to do they don't tell you, assuming you can do other stuff first. They're too old to be corrected no doubt.
Hope this helps someone like me who had this same problem and needed to know what was wrong. Go all the way back to Shell 4, into the Shipping section, into the Canal opening, back through the sewers there into the Canal area, then into the forested area again and grab a vine from the stuff just to the left of the light (same screen as it).
