You know those popup screens that appear when you've been awarded XP or gold or an item? Sometimes, I don't see those. I hear them, and the objects that I have been awarded still appear in my subscreens, but for some reason the actual popup doesn't pop up.

I have the same problem, it is a bit irritating but it doesn't really bother me. It's probably because I'm running the game on Vista. Are you using Vista as well?

I've had this problem on and off pretty much since day one after I downloaded it. It happens so rarely that I didn't really feel the need to report it.
The skipped dialogue bug on the other hand... any word on whether or not that one is fixable? Still waiting patiently.. :)

I've been ripping into the game since the dialog skipping was solved and noticed this too. I've sent a report about the issue. Not a huge problem, but hey, it's always nice to get more stuff fixed so that the GOG.com version is indeed the best one. :D

My problem is via versa - after a popup my game crashes, so I am not able to pass the game past the first popup "You got 1x bred" or something very similar.
PC: XP SP3, Athlon X2, 3 GB RAM, 9800GT, latest DirX and drivers, installer did pass the integrity test

I'm running Windows 7 and I get the occasional invisible popup screen too! :(

I'm getting the same problem.
Vista Ultimate (6.0, Build 6002), Intel Core 2 Duo, 2 G Ram, Direct X 11, NVIDIA Quadro NVS 140 M
I think I see a pattern. It seems like when I'm playing the game and multi-tasking, if I hit alt-tab and go do something else, say send someone an IM, the next time there's a pop up window in Septerra Core, it's invisible. After that, pop-ups become visible again, until I hit alt-tab again.

SOLVED my behind.

It's the exact opposite for me, ALL popups are invisible until i tab out and back in. Every time.

Edit: The popups make no sound, the game is still running but nothing happens.

The solved flag is applied by the topic starter to whatever post they feel answered their question best. In this case, the best answer in the OP's opinion was to contact support directly, since at the time this was posted (over a year ago), GOG was still collecting info on the bug. In the absence of any other solution, that is still probably the best thing to do, if only to remind the support guys that this is still an unresolved issue for several people.

3 years later, i still have that problem.
