Being Russian, I played Age of Pirates and Age of Pirates 2, and to be honest I can't look at Sea Dogs now. I bought it only to support my beloved GOG and to stimulate them to continue partnership with Akella (game developer): when sells are high there are good chance to see another games of the series.

AoP2 (and even AoP) are vastly superior games comparing to Sea Dogs, graphically of course, but what is more important - gameplay-wise. Though I do have Russian versions of both, I'd buy English versions with no doubt, especially AoP2 CoAS just to try Gentlemen of Fortune 2 mod (http://www.piratesahoy.net/threads/gentlemen-of-fortune-2-0.19345/) that seems to be the pinnacle of what this game can be and what the outdated Storm engine can bear :)

So vote for it

It really deserves to be on GOG. It's like Morrowind on sail ships. Sid Meier's Pirates! is just a joke comparing with it.

AoP vastly superior to Sea Dogs? This bugfest of a "game" that looks more like beta test than a complete product? Did you even played it?

He should have left AoP out, but AoP2: CoAS is magnificent! I, however, still enjoy Sea Dogs. It still holds it's own in my book. A little dated, and less features, yet it still has a certain charm and is easy to play. I actually broke out my CD copy once SD was released here, and have been playing through the English campaign. But back to the OP's point, I've already voted for the other Akella entries.
AoP2 looks & sounds awesome. Even more since SD does not work anyway. Voted. I hope for the best; the only other source I found was Amazon selling it for 150,- € new & 53,- € used...

Ah hah! Reading this made me go check amazon again and voila snagged the last copy for $5.

Last time that I checked Amazon it was some ridiculously high price.

Never saw this available boxed or online in the US/Canada and the EU gamersgate download didn't last long IIRC but I wonder why? I didn't read that this game was spectacularly buggy or broken. Sounded like about the usual level of more annoyances than anything for a pirates game...

Now I need a crack as undoubtedly it uses some godawful copy protection(import copy), just hopefully not that crap that replaced starforce, although they probably just renamed it.

[EDIT]
checking back there are several other retailers showing having new boxed copies now @ c. $5 IIRC but w/c. $5 shipping US... game's not that borked and there are mos plus for a pirates game what choices are there? certainly none this good as broken as it is and all...

They've got a lot of bug fixes for both Age of Pirates games. I still have CoAS loaded on my system, actually.
