I only managed to beat Screamer 1 Championship Mode because I could retry the individual races in it dozens of times until I finally came in first or second. In Screamer 2, quitting out of a race just gives you last place and throws you into the next race. Is there a way to restart the race?

Also, is there a way to SAVE your current status in the Championship or is there no choice but to play the entire thing in a single sitting?

Really a step backwards from Screamer 1.... In addition to every race feeling like it's on ice (guess that's what I get for wishing that cars would initiate drift more easily while playing the first game...)
