I've made it to chapter 3 without problems, but when I click on the on the door to Morgan's lab or on the switch board next to the door, my controls just seem to freeze. the game goes on, (People moving about etc) and i'm able to play the sound effects using the function keys, but other then that i cannot seem to do anything. I cannot move, (cannot access the menu).. anyone encounter this before?
OS: Vista home premium 32bit

Just adding to this topic, as I have the same problem in the same area in chapter three. It seems like I don't have a problem with Morgan's door or the record player as long as I go there before talking to the lady in front of the church/going into the church. but going back to Morgan's the record player after that causes it to become unresponsive.
I tested it on three different files, wondering if I uninstalled/reinstalled, it might work. I also make sure my driver was up to date (NVidia GeForce 9300)
It crashed there again. Running it in compatibility mode, going through the general troubleshooting tips, etc, testing it on the old files and on a new file, it crashed again.
I'm on Vista, 64bit.
Each time I start to get into this game to enjoy it, something new comes up. XD

I can`t complete chapter 3 because of this bug. I went straight to the door and opened it, then got the records without speaking anyone. But after I get the broom and pry the toolbox the cursor disappears. Everything`s fine until I speak one of the people, but somehow I have to get the broom. Is there a solution?

I'd try reinstalling the game and starting the game afresh from the start. I know it's not ideal but it fixed it for me (I have no other suggestions, hopefully someone else has a better idea). Plus, it shouldn't take too long to get up to where you are.

Crashed when I tried to open the control box while the fish guy was dancing.

Hi I had the same problem.

I talked to everyone in Chapter 3 before trying to enter the office. Then it would stick at the office door.

I fixed the problem by taking everyone's suggestion to reload an old save and go straight to the office without talking to anyone. I was able to enter the office.

I did have to talk to someone to get that inventory item for opening the control panel. But I did not experience any further problems in that Chapter.

I had the same issue, in my case it didn't work loading the last game. Every time I tried to interact with an object my character would just freeze. I had to unninstal the game. I was using windows 7 64bit.

Unfortunately the same problem.
