How does Saints Row: The Third multiplayer function?

I'm ready to purchase it I just need to know.

Does it use LAN? Does it use Peer to Peer (P2P)? Does it use matchmaking?

Is there Dedicated Servers instead with a Server Browser List?
Anyone willing to give me a answer?
I believe the game only features LAN support - something to do with the online component being a Steam service I think.

My friend and I are meeting up tonight to test this properly so I'll let you know :)

EDIT: Have tried numerous times this evening and haven't had any luck. Weird. At least the game is a lot of fun in single player too.

So just like Saints Row 2 there is no Dedicated Servers with a Server Browser List?

Quite annoying no one has the answer I'm looking for. I know MBocking87 tried it, but I asked if it's exactly like Saints Row 2 and I got no response and it looks like comments go to 0 for some reason :(.

Really wanting to know before I purchase Saints Row: The Third from gog.com.
Saint's Row 2:
Didn't tried to play on a VPN on LAN. Don't know if it works.
But SR2 online uses Gamespy, sooo... that's a big no. No official servers working anymore.

Saint's Row: The Third:
Online COULD work. It features Steam Matchmaking, which should work to Galaxy users if I understood GOG announcement. Didn't find any party to join, though. If anyone with GOG's SR:TT wants to try to play online, just add me to friends. Let's try if it works at all.
This also offers LAN support. I guess it should work, but again, I didn't tried it.

Hope I helped you.
Can anyone confirm if LAN does work?

[EDIT] Well, I managed to get LAN to work for SR3. Pretty awesome and lots of fun :)
