We can no longer play Saints Row 2 as it was intended thanks to the "fix" GOG made to it when it was already fixed enough with the GOTR mod and Powertools, I request it be fixed again so we may use these mods and have the game able to be ran at 60 FPS again.

Other Saints Row 2 owners please press the issue as well so we may get a proper GOG release.

I hope there was no drastic changes to Saints Row 3 so we can't use any mods with it too.
Recently finished the game and had no issue unless you mean the speed up game due to unlocked frames so care to elaborate?

Can no longer use the Gentlemen of the Row and Powertools mods as well as the 30 FPS unlock trick to make it the games native 60 FPS.

GOG went the extra mile to make sure we were not able at all to change any alterations they had made and its totally uncalled for, there is even a video of the guy who made the GOTR mod now working for Volition in a Lets Play video of them playing the PC version of Saints Row 2 the way it was meant to be played.

As far as I can tell, this game hasn't been updated since May, and that was just some language selection hotfix or something. I don't think there's been any significant update since it was first released here almost a year and a half ago, at which point the framerate cap for nVidia cards was already in place, and this is the first I've heard of anyone not being able to get Gentlemen of the Row (or any other mods) to work.

This has been verified here in the GOG forum as well as by others and friends of mine who own it here on GOG, I have no idea how to get this fixed other than to bring it to everyone's attention here and possibly message Deep Silver and Volition.
The reason we've locked our version at 30 FPS is that the game engine is build around 30 FPS and running it at any other breaks cutscenes, scripts, as well as some in-game content. If the cap is removed (ie. if the version of the game is not locked and the game can easily be run at a different FPS), a number of various stability issues arise. Our fix keeps the game stable and hence we won't be reverting it.

However, if any of you really, really want to remove the cap, please get in touch with our Support team and they'll be able to give you instructions on how to do this ;)

Please let support make a thread here with a guideline how to revert this or have an optional DL available before that addition (maybe hang a big "requires modding" waring sign on it). I dread to re-DL the game now; the version I have (apparently before the lock) runs great with mods. It now allegedly having compatibility issues and whatnot... no guys... If you are bored, put the energy into getting Saints Row 4, not messing up what works ;)

As I've already said before, if anyone wishes to find out how to remove the cap, they just need to get in touch with support via the support contact form and they'll be more than happy to assist :)

Well done GOG this is great customer service. You told us what you did why you did it, and then gave us the option to change it if we want to accept the risk. Thank you

Wouldn't it have been easier to have in the Game's Graphics menu to have separate options for:
1. Always 30 FPS cap
2. Always 60 FPS cap
3. In-game capped to 60 FPS and cut-scenes always synced to 30 FPS.
4. Unlocked + uncapped FPS.

You could have by default enabled "Always 30 FPS" and let the gamers in the graphics menu decide what to shoot for, at their own risk.

The majority of North American publisher/Alleged publisher (Looking at you, valve) would never volunteer this info, unless under the pain of death...This is why I celebrate the rise of the European Gaming industry as a whole!...The only decent North American devs/publishers are indies for the most part as 90% of triple A's are out to rape your bank account!

You seem to be under the impression that GOG can actually make changes to the source code of the game. I assure you this is not the case.
If they can't alter the source code - could GOG provide an unaltered and altered version of the game-files and/or EXE for SR2?

GOG likely won't do anything more for SR2, especially not without the consent of Deep Silver (who already mismanaged bringing SR3 to GOG and didn't ask Volition a single thing). Which is why fan-made solutions are the way to go.
