Does anyone know if GOG will keep a legacy version of SR4 on the library? (the Century Edition)
Seems weird that they allow that for other games (like Bloodrayne) but would replace the offline installers for SR4...

The game entry was renamed and the new version is treated as an update like any other, despite the phrasing they put on Steam. Sadly, you can only revert to GotC via Galaxy like others in this subforum were correct in assuming.
high rated
Basically they STOLE from us what WE PAID FOR and it SHOULD be rectified IMMEDIATELY

I am getting very PI$$ED OFF over GOG allowing/doing this to its PAYING CUSTOMERS
The same thing happened with Red Faction: Guerrilla. I suspect this is down to the publisher (Deep Silver) rather than GOG- GOG likely being obligated to host whatever most-current version the publisher provides them with- so I'm more upset with Deep Silver than with GOG about this, though I'm not exactly happy with GOG either.
I'm trying to contact support to express my dissatisfaction, but the stupid chatbot they use is incapable of handling any non-trivial requests.

Gonna have to contact support the old fashioned way.

I guess that makes sense - there might be some weight from the publishing side and they can't really keep "legacy" versions unless it's under the guise of a rollback in updates... Pretty bad for those that don't use Galaxy then.
It seems we need to vote again.

They almost immediately marked it as completed... Right...

So, in essence, folks like me got robbed. Superior GotC version was taken away and inferior version (does it even have Gat Outta Hell cosmetics PS4/Xbone versions of SR4 Re-elected had?) was added to my and other people's libraries (without anyone's consent) in attempt to net more data for China (Epic Game Launcher/Store made by Epic which is owned by Tencent) to sell to hell knows who.
Should've known to expect things like that from company that is pushing degeneracy thru half baked games (CP2077).
I am done. No more money for GoG. Not even during sales.

Is marking done by the GOG staff, right? Its "competed" link leads to nowhere. Crazy crazy. I think the fact of no GOG staff here and no attention combined with totally insanely marking this as "completed" means GOG doesn't care about the customers being robbed of the not-a-console-port non-remaaster game from 2013 ("Re-Elected" is from 2015, a console port and a remaster is). I am afraid the publisher and GOG itself does not want to fix this horrible mess.

I totally understand DeadCityResident's opinion might be unpopular for some. But can we agree the person does have a point? I used to be a huge GOG fan. After seeing all of that plus the current nonsense, I don't know, it seems GOG has lost itself somewhere along the road. Will it return back on the right track? I don't know. I saw half-baked games made by the company and it delusionally thinks having a bugfest is "satisfactory customer experience," saw DRM-Unfree games (i.g. "Hitman GOTY") passing in and DRM-Unfree DLCs (i.g. "Fishing: North Atlantic - Scallops Expansion"), censorship not allowing games to the store (i.g. "CountryBalls Heroes"), discrimination of people based on their language with locking engire forum sections (the language is not only of 1 country, it's international, this is 100% inappropriate), allowing extremely broken products (i.g. "SuperPower 3"), and so on. I can't call myself a fan anymore, I do not agree with this, this is not GOG that it used to be in the past long gone, when GOG was smaller Good Old Games and tried to be something good and better curated.

Give us the Game of the Century Edition as an extra, please. Re-Elected doesn't run in Windows 7. Even if it did, it's missing some things. Don't fix things that aren't broken.

It might make sense to preserve others offline too, personally, nobody knows what else may fall victim to this.

That's a fair point, that or people will have to rely on pirate versions to be able to go back to a previous version... Not sure what GOG thought would happen.
Has anyone thought of looking into legal action?

If they don't fix this situation ASAP I will be looking into Attorney's that specialize in going against game companies.

That's a bit exagerated, still i recommend to send a mail at support@gog.com (to avoid website bots ...) -> with more tickets they possibly move their "ass" about the offline version (i don't see why i'm forced to use the client to get an older version).

Still waiting they decide to put the previous version as extra : not happy to didn't get any consent about EOS (that's a bad idea business wise) .

Patience is a virtue - waiting since end December T.T - Sure they take their time...
