It's banned in Australia, so that might be what's causing it.

I'd assumed if they were selling it they would have sold us that (as with the witchers), and so i'm actually looking for confirmation they were even ~supposed~ to be working links and that 4 theoretically is on here?

I would say as it contains all the DLC, including the Rectifier, that they were unable (or more likely just couldn't be assed) to remove that one DLC file and put up a second version for Australian sale.

There is an AU pack with a character's sidequest and Rectifier removed on Steam... and GOG are looking to make it available here

The only way you can get the GOG version in oz is if somebody gifts the game to you from overseas. Use the trading thread and see if someone won't buy it in return for some other game

Hmm, I may try that, but one question first. What's the legality of that, for me, and also for someone who gifts it to me? I don't want to get someone in trouble, but it's an unfortunate fact that the uncensored version of SR4 is banned here.

Well I don't think it's illegal to receive in a trade, only to purchase it in a country where it's illegal. When I was living in Australia I'm sure that I received a censored game in a trade or 2, maybe it was The Witcher 2 (which at that point at least had a different version to other countries). I also know that people in Germany can't buy some of the shooters like Doom or Wolfenstein or something like that so they get them in a trade instead, you should be fine.

If you're still unsure whether to risk it or not ask in the trading thread, maybe someone will give you better advice. When you are sure about it someone can buy the game to trade with you.

Seems odd to me that it's hidden here but can see it fine on steam. Also why in the world would it be banned anyway? I know I got the low violence version from steam, which I always found funny, since it really lacks any true violence. Unlike so many other games.

Iirc it has something to do with a specific mission where your character takes some sort of drug to power up. Australia apparently has a law specifically prohibiting displaying drug usage as beneficial in any way.
