I am marking this as a question in hopes of receiving a response directly from GOG.
As of this post I did not receive keys for Sacred or Sacred Underworld, so I am unable to create an account to play online.
Please GOG, even if you can't provide us with keys an answer one way or the other would be nice, and you might want to clarify that's the case on the game's page.

Very good question and my purchase is waiting on the reply. I personally don't know how they would be allowed to sell the game without access, so this is probably only a short term issue.

I believe you can play on LAN without problem, so even if keys are not forthcoming, one might try routing a LAN game through Hamachi -- the only setback being all players will have to meet up and be ready and on the same virtual network.

well I enjoy the 1 player experiance, but I'd love to be able to play it MP... PLEASE GOG! LISTEN TO OUR PLEA!

I understand we could use Hamachi, but we would not be able to play our characters on Ascaron servers. It may be no battlenet, but I can't see why we aren't allowed the same privileges as those who pay for the game on steam. I chose to hold off and purchase it through gog to show my support, yet feel a bit concerned over a lack of any answer to the question.

Was going to get this from GOG but now I'm concerned about lack of MP. Hrm.

Does the steam version have MP?

I checked and did not see the keys anywhere, so I send a message to support about it.

Thank you for the reply. Is there any way that for future releases these kinds of things are stated up front before purchase? I don't mind a short wait if someone tells me up front. I do not however like being left in the dark.

Yes you have to email support and request the keys as it says above. It's not automated at all right now, but I just my keys so fear not -- it was indeed only a couple hour wait.
Re; Minus, I'm guessing this is a one off thing since this is one of the first games they've put out that needs keys for online play. They did say they're working on integrating it into the site, so it's probably just a bit of an oversight given the first time this has really come up.
I can forgive the occasional mis-step especially since it was sorted out in under 24 hours.
Which is better than I can say for a lot of things...

I'm still awaiting my keys, but I'm sure I will get them in due time. I agree this was sorted fast and I'm happy about that.
Edit: Been over 5 hours now and I still haven't gotten my keys. I know you guys are busy but other people got theirs within a couple hours...

Just wanted to post here I got my key's. I just sent them a email message yesterday and got them today. All good to go now. :D
