I have a Battlemage
and
I know that I can put other character amulets into a item and socket it at the blacksmiths, but what I was wondering was can you take a weapon (eg Stealthy Blade of Leadership - Dark Elf) and put a Battlemage combat art skill in it weather the battlemage would be able to use that item or would it still show up in red. Or can it even be done?? I dont wanna try it cause I dont want to waiste a combat art skill on it. Anyone??

I'm not sure if it can be done (I highly doubt it, but I've never tried it myself), but it wouldn't matter anyway, it won't change the fact that the Battlemage cannot use that weapon.
I also think it would be great if people could upload their characters online and other people could download them. Then people could have access to playing allsorts of differenct characters without dying all the time. Also it would be great if we could design the clothes they where. (i think Ive been playing too much sims 2) lol.

Originally, Sacred came with an import/export function in the launcher menu. Unfortunately, the GOG version of the game does not use that launcher, so it doesn't have the ability to do that... I think I should ask the GOG guys why that is.
You can still import characters from players who have the original version of the game. All you need to do is get the exported "hero##.pax" file from them and place it in your save folder. Make sure it doesn't overwrite anything there; you might have to give it a different number, like "hero04.pax", but it can't be any higher than "hero07.pax". Then you just need to use the import function that is available when you start a new game and you can start using someone else's character.
EDIT - Apparently you can still export characters with the GOG version, I just never noticed where the option was. See my question thread on the topic.

Wow this has been very ueful information. If I want to copy the file (hero07.pax) and put it on another computer can I rename it e.g. danielcarter.pax? Or does it have to be "hero07.pax to run it?

It must be named using the "hero##.pax" format, where the "##" can be anything from "00" through "07". However, the game comes with a "hero06.pax" and "hero07.pax" already, so unless you are OK with overwriting those pre-made characters, you should back them up before you name something like that.
Hey thanks heeps for this information. My little brothers is now running around with my battle mage killing everything in site lol.
