Anyone know is this game on the index in germany ??
Steam has it.

Clicking on the "daily deal" of Rune Classic Results in "All titles available". That's what ususally happens when you click on a game on GoG that's not available in Germany. For Example via Google-Link on Wolfenstein, etc.

Can anyone confirm that Rune Classic is NOT available in Germany generally ??

Steam tells me: "Not available in your country".
According to a Wiki article (last updated: March 2018) the game appears to be on the index in Germany.

I see. :(

Thank you very much for your fast response. What is weird though.

I can see the Game in Steam alongside german review-quotes. That's weird.
Maybe it's just because I amnot signed into steam. But then again. Clicking on the other link
brings up "not available i.y.c." as you said.

Have a look here

EDIT: Ok funny it's just a mean glitch :( putting in the basket results in ...nothing :D

... damn german law!! There should be an "index-decay". So that all games have to get a second check after XX years or be automatically free. It's a bureaucratic shame that some old games are still locked while new games with extreme movie-like violence get a pass now a days.
This limb-hacking classic is in my opinion in the realms of "over-the-top cartoon/fantasy violence ".
This country is a bureaucratical mess :D

Have a great sunday :)

Edit Edit: Just read after 25 years the games are free :D :D :D

I'm not sure what exactly the German law says. Apparently it's not allowed to sell the game in Germany. But I'm pretty sure it's ok to mention the game, for example in the Wikipedia. To show the Steam store page of Rune (without actually making it available for download) may or may not be legal. If you look up the Steam page of Rune in your browser (where you can't buy Rune), then this may viewed differently again in the eyes of lawyers.
I guess you could start a legal process to remove the ban from Rune, and you might even be successful, given today's standards - although I don't know why the game was banned: violence or Nazi propaganda (or both).

Updating: It seems that, for some reason, my gog is linking to German location today for unknown reasons and yes, I cannot see the Rune classic either during this sale.
oh, so I have been lucky to buy the game before GOG officially came to Germany.

Or would have to use VPN.

Or buy on vacation, from outside Germany :D Have done that already.
