If your copy of RCT2 crashes when you try to launch it or, if it launches, you cannot load/save any games because the file chooser dialog does not pop up, then you need to enable compatibility mode for the game executable.

Locate the executable (usually under C:\GOG Games\RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 Triple Thrill Pack\RCT2.EXE), open the file properties dialog and switch to the "Compatibility" tab. Set the compatibility mode to "Windows 98 / Windows Me" and check the "Disable Visual Themes" checkbox.

That's it! The game should run properly now. I tested this on Windows 7.
I've noticed you can't chose what you want the file to be called :S
To solve this, go to saved games and rename it to what you what .

I think its something to do with Windows 10
Still crashes, seems like they haven't fixed this since 2014/2016..

Chris Sawyer hasn't touched the game in many years, and everyone plays OpenRCT2 anyway. You just need the installed files for that.
