by cutting off both legs and arms and bleeding to death while your guy screams and yells. It's bloody awesome and in itself deserves my six bucks.

It's at the end of the video if you grow tired of watching the guy falling down hills and overdosing on various drugs.

I knew some people who played this when it was still freely available from abandonware sites, some of them managed to take out all of their limbs without the guy collapsing from syncope or bloodloss... which is considerably hardcore o_O

And also screwy. Though it makes the playable character a REAL MAN. He can amputate all his limbs WITHOUT ANY HANDS!

In the XFiles Game you could shoot yourself in the brains, and it'd come up with a Sucide Note each time you did it.

But still I think this easily has to be the best way of killing yourself in any game.

Heh, that's nothing. In Zork I if you throw the pile of leaves at yourself you'll end up breaking your neck!

In the first Leisure Suit Larry you could die from contracting an STD (you could shoot yourself too but c'mon). Now THAT'S what you call the man's way to go!

Seriously though despite the clunky looking mechanics of this game and its sequel I'm intensely curious to try them out (not just for the Monty Python's Black Knight way to die/play either though it's a good selling point). According to FAQ for the first game it's not as bad as everyone's made it out to be and just a matter of knowing how everything works and what to do.

In the Quest for Glory series, you can practice your "Pick lock" skill by... picking your nose. :) If your skill is high enough, you'll have an open nose. If your skill is too low... you'll die of brain haemorrhage. :D

In general, there are many creative and hilarious ways to die in the Quest for Glory games. ^^

Personally I never grow tired of auto-destructing in Syndicate Wars.
