Yeah, expect to see the "Violent Traumatism" screen quite often. Robinson's Requiem and Deus are survival games at their core, and they are even more brutal than many roguelikes. That is saying a hell of a lot.
The sheer amount of micromanagement you'll need to do is overwhelming. You must check your hydration, temperature, etc. constantly. You must treat your wounds carefully. And you must be able and ready to defend yourself against any threat, whether it be man or monster.
Everything in these games is stacked against your odds of surviving. As long as you expect to die regularly, Robinson's Requiem and Deus can be very fun and complex survival sims.
If you enjoy this, you may wish to check out UnReal World, as it is the only survival sim I have found so far that is as complex.
And if it's not death by violent traumatism (the catch-all term for lacerations, bumps, bruises, breakages, and all other such miscellaneous physical damage), it's death by syncope - literally, passing out and dying of shock.
Just remember, don't do anything stupid like trying to turn yourself into a quadruple amputee, or keeping a tourniquet on for longer than necessary.

With some quick timing, it's possible to remove all four limbs and survive. I haven't tried playing an entire game that way, but it's amusing having no limbs but still being able to walk and punch. :p
More brutal than many roguelikes does that include dwarf fortress ive punched in faces in that :D
