Since the original soundtrack will be replaced, I was wondering what type of music would everyone want to hear in the game. Personally, I'd like to hear new music with the same synthesized sounds being used in the originals or something that sounds like the Streets of Rage soundtrack.
It would be intersting to hear everyone's opinion.
I would like to hear the exactly same music as in the old soundtrack.

Starr Mazer also changed its soundtrack after her first DMCA yet still ended up with further DMCAs. So changing the soundtrack from RCRU will probably not work, as the musician is willing to go to any lengths in order to cause damage.

Devs should first crush Ms Mauer in court, then keep promoting their game into consoles. Sadly they initially chose security over freedom and now they are getting neither.

I've seen it back on Steam today, at least they got i back there.
The developers wrote that it would drain their resources and delay development time, so that's why they chose to switch soundtracks. Maybe after they replace the soundtrack, they will work on getting the original back I hope. The soundtrack is important to me, but having the game to play is priority in my opinion.

So what's the current state of the soundtrack? I'm asking this because I want to buy the game here, but I don't know te timing (like if i should hurry now that there is still the original sountrack).
They should use the original original soundtrack, which is the soundtrack from the original NES version of River City Ransom.

Then they should amp it up with some new flourishes here and there.

That's what the trailer made it seem like they were going to do.

I have no idea why they didn't do that in the first place.

I have no idea why they still aren't doing that now, instead of recommissioning a totally new soundtrack.

As always, copyright issue, they can't use the same music because of the current right owner of the Kunio contents. Personally I would love to have this option but not with the NES River City Ransom tracks but the other games like Kakutou Densetsu or the sport games. Those have much better soundtrack than the original RCR.

As far as I know, there hasn't been an update recently, so the original tracks should be still available. If you want the original tracks then it is probably better to get RCR:U soon. I'm sure the devs will announce when the new tracks are available.

Thanks for kindly reply to my question :) . Yeah, I should do it, but there are so many games getting released wich leave me with empty wallet :P .

I hope it will get a discount soon.

Well when I play the game, it still has the original music, so if you get it now it should have it. I'm not a backer for this game, so I don't know about any updated info on this game on when the new soundtrack will replace the original.
Whether you buy it now or later, with or without the original music, it will still be really fun to play. It's the best version of River City Ransom in my opinion.

Definitely. I still remember the old NES version, such good memories :) .
