I have a couple iBuffalo pads which work flawlessly in my HTPC and laptop (Windows 10) and in my RPi Retropie box, so no question with that. When I plug either of them, windows detects them without problems, but apparently this game won't see them. I go to the input define screen, and when prompted to press a button, nothing happens.

Anyone here with the same problem?

I have those same pads and I just tested them on Linux (Ubuntu Mate 16.04 and STEAMOS) and the both work with this game.

My arcade stick is not working either. This really sucks, what a disappointment.
If everything fails then there are a lot of virtual joy applications like PPJoy, VJoy and such. Those can map gamepad buttons to gamepad buttons, thus you can create a virtual profile for an XBOX controller and set the buttons on your arcade stick for example.

I've followed this game on Steam since some time and I've seen the developer posting the "the game should work with any controller" messages a lot of times. I guess it only need a little calibrating.

It really is something else, because my joystick works flawlessly anywhere else :-/

If you have Steam account maybe you could try asking the developer. I have no idea, never played PC games with gamepad.

I do have a steam account, but I already inspected the thread about gampad issues there (and it seems there are quite a few) but most solutions pointed to some tinkering with the Steam configuration, so not sure it might apply here. Is there a developer email account or something where I can address my problem?

Your best hope is to looking around the Kickstarter page:

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/combitstudios/river-city-ransom-underground

I doesn't have the game yet, can't try it with my controller, but for my friend it works with an arcade stick he ordered for Street Fighter 4.

Thanks, will do :)
I have two xbox360 controllers and they've been working fine for days. Tonight the game will no longer allow the second controller to be used. They work in other games but only in RCRU do they not work together. I can even unplug one controller and plug the second one in and the game will work with the new one but not both anymore. Pretty sure it's a bug.

EDIT:
And... at random... it's working again.

They have these two email accounts:

info@conatuscreative.com

support@conatuscreative.com

just in case anyone else is willing to send them a message; I did just yesterday.
Figured out the game works only with XBox'esque controllers. Managed to adopt my gamepad via "xboxdrv".
