I'm on Chapter 2 and I have finished the "Mystery of the Eastern Temple" quest. However, there is a room/corridor I have not been able to access (circled in red in the map of the attached screenshot). I believe it corresponds to whatever is beyond the locked gate in the screenshot, which is on the lower level you reach through the floor trap in the first main room. I think I have activated every switch in the temple and I can't find any Nautilus holes nearby. The guides I've looked for don't seem to mention this location.

Any idea how to access this room?

I really can't remember where that is but did you try and use a telekinesis spell (I believe that is the name) that can move item or pull levers from far away?....Also it couid be that the game simply does not allow you to go there.

That's a good suggestion. However, I've tried using a telekinesis spell and there don't seem to be any interactable objects on either side of the gate.

I don't think you are meant to get through. I've never managed and have looked at quite a few walkthroughs/maps in the past and all suggest it's not meant to be entered.

It seems like it. I wish there was a console command to walk through walls just to take a look at what's inside. Probably nothing, as suggested by the lack of interactive spots when using a telekinesis spell.
