I haven't fired it up so I don't know if it work but it took me all of 2 minutes to find it and download it.

You're not gonna run Re-Volt in DosBox. That won't work.
Just apply the 1.2 alpha patch from rv12.revoltzone.net and you're good to go.

Well, I stopped downloading pirated games a decade ago when I started working fulltime, but if there's no place to buy the game digitally, I may just have to download this off a torrent site.

This is due to the lack of interest (from publisher's side) of a PC version since the effort of fixing the game is probably not worth it.
I feel pretty comfortable with this.

Its a real shame, I really like the game and I'm glad I picked it up before it was taken down.

I'm sorry to see that it's taking longer than anticipated to get this gem back. Is anyone able to give an update/estimate as to when it might be available again?

Sounds to me that WeGo is just plain not cooperating. Possibly due to money; I mean if they were already stealing from a free mod for the sake of being cheap, what makes us think they would shell out any money to implement their own version of compatibility fixes, let alone compensate the modders?

It's not the community who's at fault here; WeGo more or less were caught attempting to pull a fast one on us and didn't pause to actually ask, divulge, contribute, or even credit that they were using this content. It's a pretty crummy deal on the modder's side... not to mention not everyone wants their work to be used officially, like say the people behind Rayman Optimum or the Mother 3 english translation.

I didn't even realise Re-Volt had been on offer before I find out it's taken down. I'm guessing that after more than a year, no one is bothering to try and get this back any more? This game would be an insta-purchase from me.
