I proudly say that I'm part of the Re-Volt community. I play multiplayer games with other members of the same community, and chatting with them, playing with them, I haven't noticed that they are all "butthurt douchebags", as many of you think because of... I have no idea what. You don't know anyone of them, yet you (well.. many of you) claim that we are all stupid and elitist, and that the revolt community is something to avoid. All I can say, is that I enjoy being in this community, and I encourage everyone to join it.

About us being "elitist" and "not wanting anyone new to play our game" ...
Again... why are you thinking this? Ask any new multiplayer players ('cause we DO have new players, even if ReVolt is not available on GOG), if they got help from us, if they were welcome. Believe me there's no problem with the community's hospitality towards new players, and we are happy to see new "faces" among us day to day.

The modders have done a GREAT job with the game. Not only have they made it possible to play it on modern systems, but there are many new things, great ideas in the game. You can just search for ReVolt 1.2 changelog if you are interested.
Even if they don't have legal rights to it (what, admit it... none of us know, so it's pointless to argue about it), it's understandable that they are a bit pissed, that the years of work they made, was just to earn a little more profit for a company that barely can communicate with its customers, and who said no words, asked no questions from them.
The least I can say about WeGo, is that what they've done is unethical, and may be illegal too.

I would also point out, that the solution of this situation takes so long, because of WeGo, and not because the modders are so demandig, or not willing to cooperate.
After seeing wego release the horrible cash in called revolt 2 on the play store , and its purpose of having microtransactions everywhere in the game , i can see why anyone would want let them use the content freely

Well that stinks. I guess we'll be having to hit WeGo with planks.

its a simple situation , since wego own the rights and the master to the original game, they should hire coders to patch the game themselves or release the game unpatched so that the users can get the community patch. Instead of just implementing the community patch directly without asking the community.

for those who think they should freely implement the community patch directly , i implore you to look at what happened to gohtic 3 , the game was a mess riddled with bugs , the community started fixing the game but the company did not take the fixes directly for free , instead they hired the community fixers and released a enhanced edition of gothic 3 which is sold separately and with the community support fixed gothic 3 to some extent.

so gothic 3 ->has issues , need you to search and get the community fixes
gothic 3 enhanced edition - fixed by the hired community coders
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gothic_3#Development

this is the way to deal with the situation not , simply stealing the stuff community created without giving them at least any credit for the fixes

4 months and still nothing. May as well pirate the game at this rate because it's clear we're never seeing it back on GOG again unless somehow WeGo has cooperated (fat chance).

You'd think it would be simple enough just to release it on gog with the last official patch, done. Then we can just download the community patch ourselves, how hard would that be????

Except that WeGo did not provide GOG with that version, and, knowing how terrible that company is, I'm not sure that it would be right to financially support them anyway.

But I agree with you that it seems like that would be just so simple. This whole can of worms seems just so ridiculous, with so many great and simple ways to fix it, yet NOTHING is being done. Beyond frustrating for us the consumers, the Revolt community, and GOG and resellers.
still no news?

News?
Any news GOG? I've bought the game but I think it's a game worth people's time.
Is there any news about the game? It's been a long time since we've heard from it.
I wouldn't expect any more news from GOG if WeGo is still hellbent on not caring about the community's efforts.
It's a dame shame. Lets face it, not much people want to play this game and still they want to see more profit?! Its a old game, what do they expect.
I'd love to be able to buy this game here.
It's really annoying when someone or a company buys the rights to a game and then does nothing with it. Heck, I've been waiting for Throwback Entertainment to do something with Extreme G. Anyways, at least this game can still be purchased off ebay for cheap.
