Just checking in to show I have not forgotten about this. :(
^^I will cry everyday until this game comes back bump^^
So it will come again or not?
doubt it , unless the useless owners of revolt ip and strict community of the modern revolt patch can agree on a peace treaty nothing is going to happen
Very unlikely. A year ago I told them to contact the makers of the patch but WeGo does not seem to be willing to work with them. As far as I know, they never even reached out to them.

Weird because you'd think WeGo would want to try making some more GOG and Steam money off this.

The game is still there. More than ever!

It is not easy to fix up the source code and port it over to newer libs. Looking at WeGo's other projects, I am quite sure they don't have the right people to do this.

Also, heads up! RVGL's page has been updated: http://rv12.revoltzone.net/rvgl.php

I don't get why so many people are crying their eyes out over this. The game is frequently being updated by a very competent guy and heavily supported by the whole community. It couldn't be better! This would not happen if the game was in WeGo's hands.

Check out my site if you're interested in track making, behind the scenes stuff or (almost) daily racing: http://re-volt.io/

Well, the fact still stands that now you can't get the game *legally* on GOG. "The game is still there", yes, if you don't mind pirating it and getting it via "less than legal means" -- which is the only way to get it, now, if you don't own it already.

WeGo is an awful publisher and a shady company, at best, but the over-protective community is to blame for Re-Volt being removed from GOG, as well. If some self-entitled guy hadn't complained about something or other, people would still be able to *legally* get Re-Volt and have a legal copy to keep updating via whatever patches the community keeps putting out.

As it stands, I no longer want to play this game online with the people who made it unavailable for purchase; I'll just keep playing it offline on my computer while feeling sad for all of those who can no longer purchase the game.
> if you don't mind pirating it and getting it via "less than legal means"
What WeGo did wasn't much more legal, either.

> but the over-protective community is to blame for Re-Volt being removed from GOG, as well.
Yes, this was necessary. This had to happen as someone's hard work has been sold without any form of credit. If not us, someone else would have pointed it out. GOG themselves seemingly did not feel comfortable with it either.

> If some self-entitled guy hadn't complained about something or other
That would be me and a group of my best friends. The developers thanked us. I am pretty sure that our self-entitlement is needed to keep the community alive. If it were just in the hands of WeGoI, the game would have been long dead. They don't even support their shitty Android ports anymore.
WeGo would not be able to support the PC version it in any way, either. Just think, the patch developers would receive support requests from people who bought the game on GOG and they wouldn't get a single dime from that. And thus...

> have a legal copy to keep updating via whatever patches the community keeps putting out
...the development of community patches would not have been continued if WeGo kept selling the game with our patch.
(And yes, we tried negotiating with WeGo: They do not want to support the developers in any way if WeGo kept selling it, they would rather not sell it.)

> I no longer want to play this game online with the people who made it unavailable for purchase
I am okay with that.

Any news?
RVGL got ported to the OpenPandora and the ODROID. It's also available for Linux now and there is a 64bit Windows version.
The most recent versions also integrate the content that was previously exclusive to the Dreamcast version.
There also are some new technical features such as surround sound and FXAA multisampling (antialiasing).

Then there are some new custom tracks on Re-Volt Zone worth checking out.

We also started hosting online races multiple times a week, feel free to check those out on http://re-volt.io.

3 years has gone
"The reason we don't post the news in the mainpage, is that we believe this matter can be resolved really promptly and the game will soon be back on sale."
Really promptly... yeah. Bureaucracy at it's finest I presume.
On re-volt.io you can get the game assest and than with the help of RVGL you've got a fully functional (and beyond) Re-Volt game.

I presumed something like this would occur. I somehow doubt WeGo cares enough about it now that they took the cash and ran.
