Right... i did have windows 10 but i downgraded to 8.1... Havent tried with laptop yet which have 8.1.
The game should work perfectly on Win10. Might be a problem with Galaxy. Can you check if you are running the game as admin?

Try to add NOFASTLOCK to your target in your desktop shortcut.

This isn't limited to Win 10.. I can't start the game through GOG Galaxy on Win 7 x64 pro either, though it
launches from the install folder.

This is on Win 7 x64.
I can see the cursor in game, ie to move my character and interact with things.
However, I don't see it in the menu (load/save game, etc).
[edit]
Added the NOFASTLOCK to the startup shortcut, and the cursor now shows in the menu, as well as ingame.. A big thanks to the suggestion.

Thanks for mentioning that.
I was having issues with mouse pointer in the menus, but now it's gone.. :)

I can confirm I can't launch the game via Galaxy too (on Win10 64bit)... but it works properly via Launch Revenant shortcut from the game folder...

Missing mouse icon and other glitches are happening when I'm trying to run the game without Software Rendering mode...
Check your revenant.ini in the game folder - there should be a line in the [Options] section like this:

Software3D=Yes

I think it's the default when the game is downloaded and installed...
But it can be changed accidentally by starting game via Launcher.exe where "Force Software Rendering" in Advanced Options is unchecked by default...

Tried that, still nothing.
I manually run in administrator, from either the shortcut, the launcher or the main file, and... nothing.
The "revenant" file appears a half second in the task manager then disapear.

Any idea of anything else that I can try ?

This is because Galaxy doesn't run the game as admin for some reason. It's a known issue and you could either disable UAC (which I really really don't recommend) or run the game from the desktop shortcut/exe in the game folder.

You can have some problem with DirectX/DirectPlay installation....
try this:

1) Install DirectX run time library from Microsoft's site :
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35

2) Restart the machine

3) Run your game, when asked to install DirectPlay confirm and you will be ready to play

if it's not asking to install DirectPlay automatically, follow instructions in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6XYyGB-Tn3g

I thought it can be a problem here, but I don't want to run Galaxy as admin by default ;)

Win10 doesn't seem to like that with some older games unfortunately.
Right, I have managed to get this running without Admin on Galaxy and also in the usual way just clicking the shortcut on Windows 10 64 Bit.

I was getting random lock ups during the opening cionematics and various bugs and glitching in the game itself, missing the pic top left, no text onscreen at opening, missing mouse pointer and so on.

I tried messing with Glide (NGlide & another wrapper) and forcing 3DFX etc in the ini file and no go.

I then updated to latest NVidia drivers as there was a new one a few days ago I didn't know about.

So first up just download and install in the usual way through Galaxy.

Follow what Cyboff above has said about Directplay (mine auto started and installed this step)

Next up head here and run the installation :

http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8109

Now go into your Revenant installed directory and the shortcut (not the Revenant.exe) the one called Launch Revenant right click and select properties.

Under compatability tick Run this program as Administrator and then Apply

Now right click revenant.ini

I changed a few options, main thing is that you need to leave it running as Software3D, if you force no here the game will be missing the mouse pointer, character on right side inventory, text ingame and the avatar top left side of the screen.

My revenant.ini now (only made changes in Lighting and Options headers) :

[Lighting]
MaxLights=3
Ambient3D=100
LightRange3D=180
EnhancedLighting=Yes
LightMult3D=250

[Options]
DoubleTapTicks=10
ShowDialog=Yes
PlaySpeech=Yes
CombatFace=Yes
AutoCombat=Yes
Software3D=Yes
Windowed=No
ZoomSpeed=10
VertPanSpeed=2
HorzPanSpeed=2
ViolenceLevel=4
EnhancedLighting=Yes
RealTimeLight=No
Violence=4
NoTexOverlay=No
GammaLevel=3
MusicVolume=96
EffectsVolume=127
SquishyScroll=Yes
ShortEditorDisplay=No
LastOptions="-VOODOO"
LastEditedModule="Demo"
NoCombatResults=No
NoEAX=No
No3DAudio=No
Cache3DImagery=No
BeepOnChat=Yes
VidMemZBuffer=No
WaitMapUpdate=No
FASTLOCK=OFF

Now run the game in the normal way through Galaxy and you should have no more crashes and be able to play it just fine.

I am going to keep tinkering to see if I can get some form of 3D Acceleration going, maybe trying out borderless window mode, if I suceed will post up, this should get you going for now though.

I found where the problem is - while Launch Revenant shortcut is set to be running as admin, Revenant.exe itself is not...
When I enabled "run as admin" in properties of Revenant.exe I can start the game from Galaxy without problem...
